As the first member of the Red Association project, El Carmen was part of a program established in the region providing a drying hub facility for producers of the local area to come and dry their harvests without the risk of rainfall destroying their crops and profits.
The initiative allows farmers to achieve their common goal of achieving stable, sustainable prices for their collective coffee lots, whilst improving overall quality controls.
