When I sat down to think about what to write in my “About Us” page I always thought how strange it is to talk about oneself in third person, so I figured I should approach this the way I normally introduce my business to the lovely people I have met since the start of the a.k.a. Coffee journey.
My name is Tamsyn and I am a specialty coffee roaster based in Toongabbie, Western Sydney. Established in 2016, a.k.a. Coffee supplies direct to households in Parramatta, Ryde and Hills Districts and ships Australia wide.
Since moving to Australia from New Zealand over ten years ago, I have always been working within or around the coffee industry. Having sold my café to concentrate on being a fulltime mum to my two beautiful children, the time came when I wanted to achieve a balance in my home and work life.
I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to learn about roasting coffee and as a result bought my own little roaster.
As I increasingly became official “coffee supplier” to family and friends I noticed that there was an opportunity to grow my business and share my knowledge and love of what I do with others.
I am dedicated to the supply of freshly roasted and high-quality coffee and sharing the story of the coffee. Combining this with highly personalised and efficient service, I have been able to establish a solid foundation within the home coffee sector.
I love that I have been able to cater to specific tastes and/or requirements of my customers. Each blend and product has been developed from an original idea of what it could be and then shaped through the feedback received from my customers.
My slogan “Heart to Home” was established to reflect the journey of coffee, from origin countries all the way to your home is very long, and great coffee is the result of the hard work and dedication of many people along the way and I am honoured to offer a.k.a. Coffee to you.
Wishing you Good Times and Great Coffee,
Bringing my brand to life. The stunning bespoke works for each of my blends were painted by my dear niece and Fine Arts graduate Clare Ellison Jakes.
